Computational Structural Analysis
-
Overview of the subject
In this class, computational structural analysis is covered with application to preliminary design of aerospace structures. Those are extended virtual work principle and energy method (obtained from the course of “Aircraft Structural Analysis”). Methods to derive the relevant linear algebraic simultaneous equations and effective algorithms for their numerical solution will be also covered. Finally, the computational structural formulation procedures will be applied to an extension, compression, bending, and shear problems of trusses and beams. Finally numerical solutions will be compared with the available analytical solution.
